Wow, on vinyl even! Lucky!

Yeah, after awhile I too began habitually fast-forwarding past that Sam the Tickle Man song. I guess middle-aged men just can't sing about tickling children anymore. The carefree days of bearded, permed troubadours giddily running their gnarled, wriggling fingers up and down your trembling young body are over. Pity. I swear one of the lines of that song is "He tickles your rear". I'm pretty sure child butt-tickling was roundly frowned upon even back in 1981. Sam the Tickle Man, I think it's safe to say, crossed the line a tad even then, though I highly doubt Rosenshontz intended or even perceived anything untoward when they penned that particular tune. In any event, "Hippopotamus Rock" redeems them almost fully.

I literally just finished watching the "Feel Better Friends" VHS I talked about in this entry, and it was arguably the best 45-minute long children's aspirin advertisement I've ever seen. Anyway, I'm glad all this inspired you to help spread the Rosenshontz legend to others! Thanks for the pingy-dingy!

Rosenshontz! Holy crap!

Okay... so somewhere, in my parent's basement, exists a vinyl copy of Tickles You! Which sounded a lot... a LOT less creepy in 1981 than it does today. Although I never liked Sam the Tickle Man, the subject of the first song. Creeptastic. Always used to skip it and rock the Hippopotamus Rock.

We've also got a copy of the follow-up to ...Tickles You!, entitled ...Winds Up Serving 10 to 20 Years. Ha ha, just a little post-modern internet/child molestor humor. No, seriously, it's called Share It!, the title track of which extolls the virtues of, well, you figure it out. Somewhere also exists albums called It's The Truth and Rock and Roll Teddy Bear.

You know what? Screw it. I'm blogging about this right now over at Geek USA. See you in an hour or so.

I respect and enjoy your jealous rage!

It really is too good to be true. Now all I need is a talking Count Floyd doll and I'll be all set.

I know, pingbacks make me clap my hands daintily and jump up and down while squealing, though half an hour later I'm sitting somberly with my face in my hands, mentally lamenting my desperate need for attention, so they have their ups and down. My favorite part is "long, but...". I guess it makes sense that "Student Bloggers" would want this sort of thing kept to a tidy length of two double-spaced pages.

Is May 18th Memorial Day weekend? I don't know when anything is. "Memorial" indeed! We want to do a mammoth yard sale expedition around that time, although the fact that cars are currently running on uncut diamonds is preventing us from straying too far outside the greater Bangor area.

Pingback!!!!!!! You are so fortunate!

That doll is amazing. You need to attempt to attend the yardsale I am organizing on the 18th featuring not only Kosnoid possessions but stuff from the other neighbors in the building. Our videos are not really very interesting and we don't have any dolls of any kind but the grub will be good?

Silly as it sounds, yard sales are one of the thing I miss most about Maine. Rhode Islanders rarely seem to have the same cool junk in their attics, basements, and garages as Mainers do, and if they do, they're apparently reluctant to get rid of them. And so few people bother to advertise - not even on Craig's List where it's free - so wandering around aimlessly is the only way you're really going to find any, and as they tend to be few and far between, it's often a waste of time to even try.

I'm also sad now that I got rid of all my CYOA books at our own pre-moving yard sale last year. Instantly regretted that. The lack of R.A. Montgomery's DIY adventure prose in my life is painfully noticeable.
